New way to view and update repeaters
Until now, information about repeaters was only available in the IQ tree and limited to those already attached. With this update, support users gain full visibility of all site repeaters directly from a new table view under each collection. This significantly improves access and makes it easier to review repeater status and configuration in one place.
The table displays key information such as online status, connected IQ, controller, attached locks, and a full list of repeater components with their current firmware version. You can also filter repeaters using the same structure and logic already familiar from other views, making navigation and troubleshooting more efficient.
Additionally, when hovering over a repeater in the IQ tree view, a tooltip now displays its type (BLE or RFnet), state (such as Attached or Detached), controller version, and up to two components with their number and version.
If a newer firmware version is available, you can now schedule an update from this page. Updates can be applied to all repeaters in the collection, a selected group, or a single repeater. This option is only available for attached repeaters, as the update process requires a connection through an IQ. You’ll find the new repeaters page alongside the Locks and IQs tabs inside each collection.
FAQs
1. What filters are available on the Repeaters page?
You can filter repeaters by Online status, Connected IQ, Controller (and its version), and Component (and its version). To apply filters, open the Filters panel, select your criteria, and click Apply Filters. You can also click Reset Filters to clear your selections.
2. Why do I see “No firmware info available” for some repeaters?
If a repeater is offline, its firmware and component information cannot be retrieved because it is not communicating with the IQ. If the repeater is online but firmware information is still missing, it means the data was not communicated yet by the IQ. In this case, you can manually request the information by clicking the refresh icon in the "Components" column. This option is only available if the repeater is online.
3. How can I refresh a repeater’s component information?
To refresh component data, click the refresh icon in the “Components” column. This action sends a firmware request to the repeater. If the repeater is online and attached, the component list will update shortly after.
In some cases, it might take up to 10 minutes for the information to update. If the component is not updated within that time, try clicking the refresh icon again. If the repeater is offline or detached, the Support API will not allow the request to be sent, and no data will be updated.
4. Can I view the components installed on a repeater?
Yes, you can view the components installed on a repeater by clicking on the component count (for example, "8 Components") to expand the list. If the information has already been communicated from the IQ, it will still be visible even if the repeater is offline. If the information has not yet been synchronized with the IQ, the repeater needs to be online to request and retrieve it.
5. How do I schedule a firmware update for repeaters?
Click Schedule Update in the top-right corner. You’ll first be asked to select whether to update all repeaters in the collection, only selected repeaters, or only the ones currently filtered.
Next, you’ll choose a Component, a Target version, and a time to apply the update. You can schedule it for “Midnight,” “As soon as possible,” or select a custom date and time.
6. Where can I check the status of scheduled updates?
Go to the Updates tab.
You will see each scheduled update listed with the repeater name, scheduled time, status (such as Succeeded or Cancelled), number of retries, update type, and the target firmware version.
7. What information is shown in the tooltip when I hover over a repeater in the IQs tab?
When you hover over a repeater in the IQs tab, a tooltip will appear showing key details. This includes the connection type (such as BLE or RFnet), the current state (like Attached, Attached Pending, Detached, or Detached Pending), the controller number and version, and the number and version of each component.
8. Why don’t I see the new firmware version in the overview after a successful update?
Even if the firmware update is marked as succeeded in the “Updates” tab, the repeater’s overview will still show the previous version until the data is refreshed. To update the firmware version displayed, click the refresh icon in the “Components” column. This triggers the IQ to retrieve the latest information.
