Q. What are LAM Sync Logs?

Starting a LAM Sync is the action you take to ensure all IQs on the site have the latest access rules in their local memory. It is essential to know if a LAM Sync has succeeded so you can determine the cause of issues you might be facing with your customer’s access. For this reason, we provide LAM Sync Logs to inform you about the sync and its status.

Q. How can I enable or disable LAM Sync Logs for my site?

LAM Sync Logs stay disabled by default, and you can Sync LAM and enable these logs. In your Larry Support app, you have two ways of doing so. With these options, we hope to empower you to maintain control of logs for any site or collection you can access.

  • On the ‘Overview’ page of a Site, when you click on Sync LAM from the actions menu on the right, a modal will pop up. In this modal, you can either click a button and only Sync LAM or click the blue button to Sync with logs.
  • On the LAM Sync Logs page, you will see a button that you can click to enable or disable logs accordingly.

To keep the incoming logs and the stress on the platform at a minimum level, LAM Sync Logs will be enabled for two days, after which they will be disabled. If you need the LAM Sync Logs after that period, you can always re-enable them as described above.

Q. How do I know when the LAM Sync succeeded and when it failed?

When you trigger LAM Sync for a site with LAM Sync Logs enabled, you can monitor the sync progress by going to the LAM Sync Logs page. You need to keep an eye out for two types of logs: LAM Sync Started and LAM Sync Finished logs.

A LAM Sync should take a couple of minutes, but this may vary depending on the load on the platform at the time. If, after some time, you do not see the LAM Sync Finished log, this means the LAM Sync has failed.

If you see the LAM Sync Finished log and the customer is still complaining about their access, you must continue your investigation beyond the LAM Sync.
